Spider Treatment on Windows and Facades in Bettmeralp

Article 5 of the building and zoning regulations states, for building group B of village zone D1, that projecting building elements such as balconies, stairs and the like are not permitted. Window size, window division and window openings must follow traditional construction, and new openings and doors are only permitted as an exception.

Where there are no balcony undersides, possible sites for webs and egg-laying shift to other parts of the facade.

At a new building with a balcony, I check under the balcony first. In building group B, by contrast, I focus checks and treatment on window reveals, shutters and the roof soffit. I do not suggest structural changes to the traditional openings.

According to the municipal profile, Bettmeralp can only be reached by cable car. I therefore pack brushes and treatment products for reveals, shutters and the roof soffit completely before travelling up, since nothing can be brought up there afterwards by van.
