Sunbathing Lawn, Children's Paddling Pool and Kiosk
According to the municipality, the Hallenbad Steg indoor pool on Galdistrasse has an outdoor area in summer with a large sunbathing lawn and a children's paddling pool. The kiosk sells drinks, snacks and ice cream.
On a sunbathing lawn, children walk barefoot across the grass, and a ground nest can be sitting in the soil. During opening hours, a nest there is an immediate sting risk.
Working Outside Opening Hours
If I am notified of a nest in such an area, I treat the case as urgent. I schedule treatment and the follow-up check for times when the pool is closed, so no visitors are nearby. On site, I first identify the species, just as with any other Wasp control in Upper Valais.
