Blinds and Awnings Close Above the Pavement
How low sun blinds, roller blinds and awnings in Visp may hang above the pavement is set out in Art. 35 of the building and zoning regulations. Their lowest point must be at least 2.20 metres above the pavement. They may project outward up to 50 centimetres less than the width of the pavement.
If a wasp colony builds its comb inside such a casing, depending on the height, it can end up almost at head height for people walking underneath. When someone retracts or extends the blind, the nest moves with it, which can startle the wasps and send them flying out over the pavement. Before any treatment, I therefore first look at the casing and how many people pass underneath it.
The Blind Stays As It Is Until the Appointment
You can find the easiest way to report the nest to me on reporting with a photo. Please do not move the affected blind or awning until I have carried out the treatment. I secure the pavement section underneath myself during treatment.
Where possible, I treat at an off-peak time with little foot traffic, so that as few passers-by as possible notice anything. If pigeons are also roosting there, that is a matter of pigeon deterrence on the same casing, meaning droppings protection rather than the nest.

Questions about Wasp nest removal in Visp
Better not to. In Visp, an awning may hang down to 2.20 metres above the pavement at its lowest point, and any movement can disturb the nest above passers-by's heads. Leave it as it is. I will secure the pavement and treat the nest.
